Refer families today

Why refer?

Concerned about a child's development?
Don't wait. Act early!

Support for a healthy pregnancy and early childhood.

Early Intervention services help address a child's physical, social, emotional and other developmental delays in the setting where the child lives, plays and spends their days. The earlier you refer a child, the better. You can help the family ensure their child has services that support the best start in life.

As of July 1, 2019, automatic eligibility for Early Intervention was expanded to include children diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) and children with elevated blood lead levels (≥5ug/dL).

Home Visiting helps to ensure that all Ohioans have the best start in life and comes at no cost to families.

A home visitor can improve pregnancy outcomes and help families prepare for a new baby. Even after the baby is born, Home Visiting can help families with feeding, sleep issues and keeping their new baby safe and healthy. The parenting education and child development resources provided to families support them during the critical early years of a child's development.

Understand the Help Me Grow system of supports

Help Me Grow is a system of supports for pregnant women, caregivers with new babies, and families with young children with developmental delays and disabilities. Making a referral to Help Me Grow Central Intake and Referral connects families to the services and supports provided through Home Visiting and Early Intervention.

Refer a family for Home Visiting or Early Intervention
Anyone can refer a family to Help Me Grow. There are several different ways to make a referral:

To request a presentation about Early Intervention, Home Visiting, or the Help Me Grow system of supports for your staff, email [email protected].

Help Me Grow now offers the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) Online screening for Ohio families with children birth through age five. The screening can help parents, caregivers, and other providers understand how a child is developing and whether there are any concerns.

It is now available in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic. Ongoing monitoring and follow-up calls from a developmental screening specialist are also now included.
